Really...Facebook.. ( Fridays Post )

So the topic was about Facebook Privacy Settings. What's the deal with it, it is changing so much. How many times a month do you go check you privacy setting whenever you log onto your facebook? My answer is never, I never think about it and it is changing all the time people should probably look at it more often but they don't. No one really thinks about that much and most people don't care my conclusion on that is people C.A.R.E... No im just kidding because I don't even really care but i should im getting that age where im about to go out and do more with my life and im trying to get a summer job I really dont want my boss to find any pictures of me or my parents and im sure other people are with me on that subject. So you can go to your privacy settings and make that where only certain people can see those types of pictures or status for that matter there are many things that are changing on Facebook. So people need to be more aware.

Hello everyone out there. So we watched a video today Mr.Will Richardson made a video on education and just saying different things about it. Our teacher gave us some questions to reflect on here they are. What are your thought about this video? Are there implications to education? To your education? My answers are going to be very simple not going all out on these questions. What are your thoughts about this video, well I think this man knows what he's talking about and knows his information and is correct. I honestly don't think our teaching methods need to change taking a few notes isn't a bad thing and actually using a pencil and a piece of paper is going to kill anyone. All of the technology is taking over my school we are always on the computers and never just using a book that often or taking notes that much.

Quick Math!!!

We are suppose to find a website that will help us in school. QuickMath.com is very helpful to anyone in math. I use it in Geometry. Pretty much all you do is go in the category for what you are doing in that math class. Lets imagine your doing plots and need to graph them you can graph on quick math all you have to do to solve one equation type it into the box click on solve it gives you the answer, But you still have to graph it go to the plots under the equations category type in your plot equation then type in how large your graph is for the x and y axis and it will give you exactly what you need. This might sound very confusing, but it is very very easy once you start using it. I hope you enjoy it and again it is quickmath.com. Thanks for reading my blog :)

My Digital Footprints..

Digital Footprints can show how you reflect on the world and show you true person online. If you were to type a certain name into Google.com some things are going to come up on the web page about that certain person you can find out plenty. You can find out if they have a Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc. You might be able to find some pictures and great accomplishments as well, "you never know what will show up about you online" is a quote a lot of parents say to children because it is true. That's why you must be careful when using the internet.
      My digital footprints is a mixture I have good and somewhat bad things online about me. Yes I have searched myself on Google just to see what comes up. I have some of my greatest accomplishments on a Google page for example the Junior Olympics page is up there and the Kansas Runners Page from when I competed in the summer. Those are the good things that I don't mind having on there some day maybe it will help with a track or runners scholarship. Bad things I don't like having Facebook or from when I was in Jr. High everyone had a bebo and that account is on there maybe my blog I'm not sure but I don't like having certain things on there for people to find me. But that's the way internet works I suppose and I can't change the internet.

Google Reader

Google reader is something that would be helpful on an essay and things you want to learn about for example couponing. There is also a thing on Google called Google Alerts. There really isn't much for me to talk about over this because it's just something you would have to look over yourself to see if you would enjoy it. I don't really know how to explain it to anyone other than you have to have an account, that doesn't need a new email address.

Student Plan with a Facebook Banning!!

Hello!! I have just watched two videos one over student plans and the other over a principal banning Facebook to his students!!
            Student Plans.. This seemed pretty interesting to me I like how there are links to the sites you need and are interested in, its organized and all right there ready to be clicked on. It is something i would like to see how it works and use it for school. If I actually like it..
            A Facebook banning from a school principal.. This principal sent a email to all the parents of children that go to his school about telling their kids to stop using facebook and just end a account, I don't think that the principal should be telling the parents what to tell their kids, it should be the parents idea. It's kind of bashing them as parents telling them they arent doing the right thing by letting their kids use Facebook at a young age and hello principal of the year once you tell a kid NO that makes them want to do that one thing even more most of the time. I have never saw a group that said something like " Johnny is Ugly " before or someone is fat and I have been a facebook user for about 3 years and still have not seen that happen. There is a little bit of drama that might take place on the site but it blows over. Yes I know that cyber-bullying is happening in this world and that some kids do extreme stuff so people see that they are being bullyed over Myspace and Facebook. In my opionion if everyone wanted to stop cyber-bullying like they say they do on the news channels then why do they keep coming up with Social Networking sites as in Twitter because thats pretty new. No I'm not for cyber-bullying but if they truely wanted to stop it then they would take down all social networking sites or they main ones as in Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter, but they haven't.

Just got a twitter account!! It's pretty cool thing, I'm liking it for now don't really know how long I will stick with it though. Living with Technology

This is my blog post for Friday since i couldn't be here because of a track meet. The question we go asked was What is the one piece of technology that I couldn't live with out? My answer would be my cell phone, the reasoning is because it helps me connect with friends by text and calls. If someone gets in a car wreck on the side of the road i can call 911 with my cell phone, and when I want to get a hold of a friend I can text them or call them using my cell phone. It's a big part of a teens life. Thanks for reading my blog :)

Social Networking

Our topic that was giving to us is how would we describe social networking, how does it affect you in life and how do you use it?? Describing social networking, social networking is Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, any thing were you are being followed like blogs and Twitter and any site where you can talk to other people. How do you use it, you sign up for the site and then make a profile and either follow or befriend them ( I don't know how to explain that very well ). How does it affect you in life, I would say very much I use Facebook and so do most of my friends, but it does create drama sometimes and that can get annoying but it is fun to have. New Things!!!

Hello Everyone.. I wasn't very sure what to blog about so I'm just going to type about this new program i have to learn how to use then make a tutorial over it. Pixlr is a photo editing site it seems like lots of people are editing photos more often so I thought it would be neat to learn how to use a new program then the one I already use ( picnik ). Anyway Pixlr is kind of like photo shop I guess well it seems like it. I haven't really got to mess with it and see whats really on it, but I will probably get the hang of it.. Hopefully.. Technology and School

The topic the teacher gave us to blog over is what role does technology have in your education and how might you be able to use technology to make learning easier or more efficient? My looks on that question I personally don't really like all the technology that's coming into the school, I guess I'm more of the pencil and paper type. But I can see how it makes it some what easier for the teachers as in Edmodo it's like Facebook for school the students can turn in assignments to that class they are in and the teachers can grade it right there but that's not explaining how it's easier for the students. I don't really know how using a computer can make any of us smarter then we are since in some programs computers could probably do all the work for us or if you are taking a quiz like assignment as in Study Island for geometry when you can get all the answers wrong, write them down then click on questions missed and they are the exact questions with the exact answers so if you wrote them down you can easily get all of them right with a low score.. How is that making us smarter or making "learning" easier cause by doing that your not learning the problems and how to do them. Using computers will help us out in the future considering all the technology now, who knows what will be out in about 3 years? So learning about technology is good but i don't know how it's making learning any easier? Thank You everyone for reading my blog :)

Wordle is a pretty cool website its something that you can do whenever you get bored. All you do is either type in or copy and paste some words into the box hit go then it randomizes your words and you can change fonts, backgrounds, colors and theme.. The Day Goes On!!!

It's Friday!:)! This is day has been pretty good, this week was good other than me starting not to feel very well but, its alright.. Today's 21st century skills class I am looking up more information about netiquette, (if any one knows things about Netiquette please don't be shy to share) then soon making a prezi presentation i've worked with prezi before it's not really how I like doing a presentation I'd rather stick with powerpoint but, that's my personal opinion!! Timothy and I made a google search video together yesterday it's kinda cute but, I'm going to make my own all by myself (our video is on youtube it's called weddings by tiffgafford if you want to take a peek).. Something New!!!

Hello :) 21st first century skills class is interesting!! I'm having to make so many different new things as in a Diigo account, a Gmail account, this Blog ( i have never blogged in my life ) and now i got to pick a topic for a Prezi Presentation, my presentation is over netiquette i have no idea what that is, but i guess I'm about to find out by using my diigo to search things and keeping notes. I have never used it so of course its something new!!!
